Overview
GuessGrid is an online multiplayer party game where players create or join private rooms, choose teams and roles, give clues, and vote on guesses. The app does not require an email/password account. Instead, it uses anonymous Firebase authentication so the game can recognize a player session while a room is active.
We do not sell personal information, we do not run third-party ads, and our analytics events are designed to avoid player names, room codes, raw clue words, payment receipts, and other high-cardinality gameplay text.
Information We Collect
Gameplay information
To run multiplayer rooms, GuessGrid stores the room state in Firebase. This can include room code, room status, selected word-deck language, game board state, revealed cards, scores, current turn, clue state, votes, and player seat information.
If you enter a nickname or display name, it is used inside the room so other players can identify you during the game. You should not use a real name or sensitive information as your in-game nickname.
Anonymous identifiers
Firebase Authentication creates an anonymous user ID. GuessGrid uses that ID to join rooms, reconnect you to your seat, identify the room host, and associate purchases or diagnostic events with the same app session. This ID is not an email address and does not require a password.
Purchases and premium access
Premium purchases are processed by Apple or the relevant app store payment provider. GuessGrid uses RevenueCat to manage purchase status, subscriptions, entitlements, restores, and purchase-related errors. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Analytics, diagnostics, and crash reports
GuessGrid may collect basic analytics and diagnostics through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. This can include screen views, app version, platform, device information, anonymous user ID, custom gameplay events such as room creation or game completion, and crash or non-fatal error reports.
Analytics events are intended to use low-cardinality values such as booleans, counts, platforms, routes, teams, roles, and result types. They are not intended to include room codes, player display names, raw clue text, word lists, or purchase receipt data.
Local preferences
The app may store settings on your device, such as selected language, word-deck preference, how-to-play completion, and local app options. These preferences remain on your device unless synced or needed by a game room.
Support messages
If you contact us for support, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, description of the issue, or approximate time of a problem.
How We Use Information
- Provide multiplayer room creation, joining, gameplay, reconnects, scoring, and role management.
- Keep game state synchronized between players in real time.
- Verify premium access, process purchases, and restore purchases.
- Understand whether core game flows work correctly across platforms.
- Find and fix crashes, errors, latency, and compatibility problems.
- Protect rooms from stale data, invalid actions, and accidental duplicate state changes.
- Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
Retention
Game rooms are designed to be temporary. Rooms include an expiration timestamp and are intended to be removed after they are no longer needed for active gameplay. Local settings remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
Analytics, crash reports, purchase records, backups, and provider logs may be retained according to the policies and retention settings of Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, and the relevant app store. Some records may need to be kept longer when required for security, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
Your Choices
- You can choose a nickname that does not identify you personally.
- You can leave a room at any time, and inactive rooms are intended to expire automatically.
- You can delete local app preferences by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
- You can manage subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds through your app store account.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with your use of GuessGrid.
Because GuessGrid uses anonymous authentication, we may need details such as platform, approximate dates, room context, or an anonymous app user ID to locate data related to a request.
Security
GuessGrid uses Firebase security rules and Cloud Functions to limit access to room data and sensitive game state. For example, hidden board information is handled separately from public room state so that normal players should not receive information meant only for eligible roles.
No internet service can guarantee perfect security. Please avoid entering sensitive personal information in player names, clues, room chat-like fields, or support messages.
Children
GuessGrid is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
International Processing
GuessGrid and its service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. We rely on our service providers' safeguards and contractual terms where applicable.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app changes, when service providers change, or when legal requirements require an update. The latest version will be identified by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
