Privacy Policy
The short version. Werewolf Village has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics or tracking SDKs. You never give us an email address, a phone number or a password.
The only thing you type about yourself is a display name, and the only reason it exists is so the other people in your room can tell whose turn it is.
This policy explains what Werewolf Village (“the app”, “we”) does with data. It applies to the
Android and iOS versions of the app, published under the package identifier
com.meyvelikahve.werewolfvillage.
What the app collects
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymous user ID | Identifies your seat in a room and keeps your secret role yours | Firebase Authentication |
| Display name and chosen portrait | Shown to the other players in your room | Cloud Firestore, inside the room |
| Game data — room code, seats, ready state, votes, night actions, assigned roles | Running the game and keeping every player’s screen in sync | Cloud Firestore |
| Subscription status and purchase events | Knowing whether hosting is unlocked, and restoring it on a new device | Adapty, Google Play, Apple |
| Device and app information, including the advertising identifier where the platform provides one | Collected by our subscription provider to attribute and troubleshoot purchases | Adapty |
| App settings — chosen language, whether the free village was used, review-prompt counters | Remembering your preferences | Your device only; never sent anywhere |
About the anonymous ID
When you open the app it signs in anonymously. That produces a random identifier with no name, email address or phone number attached to it, and no password to create. We cannot use it to work out who you are, and it is not linked to any identity you hold anywhere else.
About your display name
The display name is free text you type, up to 24 characters. Everyone in your room sees it. Please use whatever you would be comfortable showing to the people at your table — a nickname works exactly as well as a real name, and the app never checks.
About the advertising identifier
The app shows no advertising and is not part of any ad network. The advertising identifier is present only because it ships inside the Adapty SDK we use for subscriptions, which may read it to attribute purchases. It is not used to profile you or to target advertising.
What the app does not collect
- No email address, phone number, postal address, date of birth or password
- No location data of any kind
- No contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone access
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK — the app does not measure how you use it
- No advertising, no ad networks, no cross-app tracking
- No payment card details — Google Play and Apple handle payment, and the app never sees them
Who else processes this data
We do not sell or rent data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers that make the app work:
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) hosts the anonymous sign-in and the live room data. As part of serving those requests Google processes technical information such as your IP address. See the Firebase privacy documentation.
- Adapty manages subscription state across devices. See the Adapty privacy policy.
- Google Play and Apple process the purchase itself and tell the app whether a subscription is active. We never receive your payment details.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long it is kept
- Room and game data is deleted when the last member leaves the room. A room that everyone abandons without leaving — by closing the app, for example — may persist until it is cleaned up.
- The anonymous ID persists while the app is installed. Deleting the app or clearing its data ends it, and there is no way to recover the same identifier afterwards.
- Settings stored on your device are removed when you uninstall the app.
- Subscription records are retained by Adapty, Google and Apple for as long as their own policies and the applicable tax and accounting rules require.
Deleting your data
Leaving a room removes your seat from it; when the last person leaves, the room and everything in it goes with them. Uninstalling the app removes the local settings and ends the anonymous identifier. If you would like anything else removed, contact us at the address below — because the identifier is anonymous, please write from the device in question and tell us roughly when and how you played, so we can find the right records.
Children
Werewolf Village is a party game about accusation and bluffing, and it is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, and under the KVKK in Türkiye — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within the period the applicable law allows.
Where we process personal data, we rely on the necessity of doing so to provide a service you asked for: without a display name and an anonymous identifier there is no way to seat you in a room.
Security
Traffic between the app and its providers is encrypted in transit. Secret roles are stored in a private location that only their owner can read, enforced by server-side security rules rather than by the app — the other players in your room cannot read your role even if they try. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International transfers
The providers listed above operate globally, so your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards each provider offers, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update the effective date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
